The picture above isn't Christmas or New Years, it's the Fourth of July Parade when I launched my campaign for Grandville City Council. For me, that was when 2025 really began. The campaign ruled my life from May to November, when I lost the election. I got my life back just in time to try to figure out how to create a digital version of my annual Christmas Newsletter. Gotta keep up with the times.
I am hoping to be able to share more photos than I ever could in a printed version. It's been a kinda crazy year on national and local level. I went back to Missouri for a week to see my brothers for the first time since we sold Mom's house in June 2024. My former sister-in-law, Della Savage, came up from San Antonio and we toured some historical spots in mid-Missouri with my other former-sister-in-law, Carol Britt. I also took a little trip to Detroit with The Wine Ladies, a group of friends who can make anyplace fun.
The high point of the year was getting to work with Ryan on my campaign. His computer and design skills are amazing. The low point of the year was losing my cat, Polly. She died the day before the election and it didn't take me long to realize which loss meant more to me.
Hope you have had some good times this year and I am anxious to hear all about it. Glad we can keep in touch even if it's a digital distance. I know there is trouble all around us. Here's praying your family can find peace in the chaos. As Anne Frank said during the Nazi crisis "In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart." Happy New Year.
